The GIS focuses on bilateral relations between Israel and Switzerland – and vice versa.
In 2011 GIS started operating in Israel. Our volunteer work is driven by enthusiasm – our concept is well received. We need a certain financial framework to continue our projects and widen the spectre of making Switzerland more popular among Israelis.
Weekdays are ‘Israel, Between the Lines‘ days
Our readers love alternative news from this fascinating country and we are proud of five years of news producing – our most renowned publication is the weekly edition of a free of charge newsletter, in German “ISRAEL – ZWISCHENZEILEN“, in French “ISRAËL – ENTRE LES LIGNES“, and most recently the English edition “ISRAEL – BETWEEN THE LINES“. Contrary to ongoing negative reporting, our publication focuses on the non-political side of the country, on good news that is worth reporting. The topics cover the lively start-up scene, culture, health, demography, archaeology, research and much more.
By focusing on topics that are not widely covered, we found our niche – and deliver our uplifting views on day-to-day reality in Israel to the Swiss and German population, politicians, media outlets and significant opinion leaders. The French version is published Wednesdays and reaches out to readers in West Switzerland and France.
We are successful – our readership comprises several thousand readers and the number is growing on a weekly basis.
The English language “Israel Between The Lines” is our latest addition and will start operating in early 2016. Launching this challenging project opened new opportunities to reach out for new markets. Setting up a new framework for an English publication also challenged us to rethink and upgrade the established newsletters and their online presentation. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors for supporting our ideas and financially contributing to this ambitious project.
We’d like to continue – and we have great plans.
However, the GIS does rely on sponsors and we finance our numerous projects with your donations. The beginning was hard, and we worked many hours into projects simply because we believed in it. Today, the situation is quite different, and our association is renowned for its variety of social and informative activities
The GIS relies on sponsors – and we’d like to express our appreciation for current as well as future sponsors.
